Throughout the time I've spent at ICI, I've found a community I feel at home with.

I do what I love and I have freedom, which was my ultimate desire. I implemented the tools and models I learned at the school immediately, and that's led to being able to live life on my terms.

Q: TELL US ABOUT YOUR LIFE BEFORE THE SCHOOL? I had been leading teams in lots of organizations for years, and I love leadership. It’s the thing that drives me and gives me my spark. But eventually, I got to a point in my career where I knew there was more. I wanted to get more technical about leadership because I knew I had further potential outside my current position, and I wanted to reach it.

Q: WHAT MADE YOU GET STARTED AT THE INTERNATIONAL COACHING INSTITUTE?

After months of following the school online, I decided to join a live webinar. I remember that day. I joined in and immediately thought “these people speak my language”. It was an environment where I felt at home, and it looked like the ‘more’ I was searching for. It was an interesting start to my journey because I stalked the school for such a long time before I ever enrolled. Now it’s coming up to 4 years since I became a student.

Q: WHAT HAVE THE PAST 4 YEARS BEEN LIKE FOR YOU? WAS IT AS YOU EXPECTED?

It turned out completely different to what I expected. Were things what I wanted? Yes, and much more. However, I thought I was going to be a better leader for others, and instead I became a better leader for myself.

I think about all the emotions involved in this journey and how I was able to assemble them, and I realize that I had so much trapped inside me. I’ve become a better mother, wife, friend, and person all because I’m more emotionally available, and I didn’t expect that. I didn’t intend it at the time I started, but this journey has actually been about me, and I'm grateful.

Q: HOW HAS YOUR LIFE TRANSFORMED SINCE YOU STARTED YOUR JOURNEY?

Before this, I had on-the-go energy at all times. I think, in reality, a lot of that busyness was avoidance of the things I knew I had to work on.

Now, because of the amazing teachers and leaders in this school, I have allowed myself to grow, and I’ve gained so many tools that allow me to purposefully design my life each day.

Q: WHAT DO YOU DO NOW? I picked up my first pro bono clients organically through my co-workers, and now I’ve grown to run a full-time business. I wake up and design each day, and I get to use my love of leadership and help others through coaching. I’m still doing what I loved originally, only now I’m doing it in my own way. Q: WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE WHO'S PROCRASTINATING SAYING YES TO THEIR COACHING DREAM?
